Please Take Our Food Scrap Survey
We are Southbury neighbors working together to build sustainable practices in our town. Our starting project is to reduce food waste, shrink our carbon footprint, and build soil through composting. You can help this happen town-wide by filling out this survey. Thank you for being part of a culture of care for our town and our earth!
As a community organization Sustainable Southbury has made a commitment to the Southbury Food Bank to fill a shelf with canned fruit every month. We are committed to 40+ items per month of canned fruit and apple sauce, The cans should be 15 oz. size or packages of individual servings.
We need a volunteer each month to be the "collection" point for our monthly contribution for all members to drop off their donations of canned fruits and applesauce. Our volunteer then drops off our "shelf" of items to the Food Bank on the second Saturday of the month between the hours of 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
We invite you to donate items to support this important community organization. Fill out the contact form above and in the message box state that you want to participate in the Food Bank program. We will include you in our email reminder notification.
You may also contribute monetary donations in one of two ways:
PayPal - go to www.southburyfoodbank.org and click on Donate
Send a check made out to Southbury Food Bank and mail it to: P.O.Box 68, Southbury, CT 06488.
PLEASE make sure to let them know it is on behalf of Sustainable Southbury Adopt-A-Shelf.
