Campaigns
Community Energy Campaign
Our mission is simple ...
Help the town's residents and businesses to reduce energy consumption and make better use of renewable energy. Learn about this program and listen to recorded events covering weatherizing your home, heat pumps, solar energy and battery storage technology, and financing incentives.
REFILL Not Landfill Campaign
Many of us stopped using reusable cups during COVID.
All Southbury retailers support the use of reusable cups! Many provide discounts and/or reward points for using your own clean personal reusable cup. Starbucks in Southbury just added an option on their mobile app to support using your own cup.
So let’s all make this small change to benefit the environment and earn rewards at the same time!

Southbury's Food Waste Recycling Program
Food scraps are one of the largest components of trash sent to landfills and incinerators. However, food scraps are not trash, they are a resource that can be turned into useful compost and renewable energy.

Learn how to participate in the free program at the Southbury Transfer Station, why you should compost, and what items are accepted.
