SUSTAINABLE SOUTHBURY SCHOLARSHIP 2026

This scholarship is open to Southbury residents in high school, currently enrolled in a college, or returning to a higher education institution, and plan to pursue an education in one of the following areas: conservation, environmental studies, sustainability, recycling, agriculture, farming, forestry, clean energy technology, natural resource management, or urban planning. Sustainable Southbury is built on the Sustainable CT framework based on 12 categories of Sustainability.

 

Applicants should be in good academic standing and have a history of community service compatible with environmental issues.

 

Interested high school students should apply through their high school counseling office.  All other students should apply by mail using the application form listed below.

 

For 2026, the scholarship is $1,000.

1. Complete the application form shown below.

2. Attach your Personal Essay by Applicant: This essay should discuss your chosen field of study, which should align with the goals of Sustainable Southbury’s mission of promoting any of the following: energy efficiency, waste reduction, recycling, increasing clean energy use, and clean transportation to improve the quality of our air, land, water, and natural resources.  Please include how your field of study can help Sustainable Southbury become a more sustainable community.

3. Please include proof of Southbury residency.
