SUSTAINABLE SOUTHBURY SCHOLARSHIP 2026

This scholarship is open to Southbury residents who are currently in high school, enrolled in college, or returning to a higher education institution.

 

Applicants should be in good academic standing and have a history of community service compatible with environmental issues.

 

Interested high school students should apply through their high school counseling office. The Sustainable Southbury Scholarship is open to students who are residents of Southbury and plan to pursue an education in one of the following areas: conservation, environmental studies, sustainability, recycling, agriculture, farming, forestry, clean energy technology, natural resource management, or urban planning. 

 

For 2026, the scholarship is $1,000.

 

To apply:

1. Complete the application form shown below.

2. Attach your Personal Essay by Applicant: This essay should discuss your chosen field of study, which should align with the goals of Sustainable Southbury’s mission of promoting any of the following: energy efficiency, waste reduction, recycling, increasing clean energy use, and clean transportation to improve the quality of our air, land, water, and natural resources.

3. Include a copy of your high school ID, or driver's license, or voter registration card.

Official school transcripts should be sent to the address listed above. Others will be reviewed individually.
