10 Eco-Friendly Resolutions to Try in 2022

Updated: Dec 19, 2021

As 2022 rapidly approaches, it’s once again time to consider New Year resolutions. This year, why not try something new? Here’s a list of 10 eco-friendly resolutions you can try in 2022, in no particular order.

  1. Compost!

  2. To reduce your carbon footprint, take shorter or less hot showers.

  3. Use more reusable bags, which will help curb the global waste problem by reducing the need for single-use plastics.

  4. Make a conscious effort to turn lights off when you leave a room and unplug chargers that are not in use, which helps save energy.

  5. If you eat meat, consider having at least one meat-less free day a week.

  6. Buy locally. This reduces the carbon footprint created from food transportation.

  7. Be more energy efficient with appliances. For example, only use washing machines / dishwashers when they are completely full.

  8. Try to buy organic food, which unfortunately is a bit more expensive, but is produced much more sustainably.

  9. If you can, start a garden!

  10. Reduce food waste, which, again, will help keep the waste problem under control.

Hopefully you’ll try out one (or even better, more!) of these simple resolutions next year. On their own, these actions may seem small, but they really all add up in the end.
